Arrest made in Little Falls shooting
LITTLE FALLS — Investigators from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hutchinson Police Department Monday night arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a Little Falls man early Monday morning, Little Falls Police Chief Greg Schirmers reported Tuesday.
Investigators arrested the 36-year-old suspect, whose name wasn’t released Tuesday afternoon, without incident Monday night at his home in Hutchinson. The suspect is currently being held in the Morrison County Jail and is expected to be arraigned late Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the victim, Dustin Joseph Brown, 30, of Little Falls. Brown died of multiple gunshot wounds. Police found Brown early Monday morning in his home at a mobile home park at 600 Lindbergh Dr. N.W. after receiving reports of gunshots. The home had been set on fire; investigators believe the suspect set the blaze to destroy the crime scene.
“We believe we have a clear understanding of what happened and are not looking for any additional suspects at this time,” Little Falls Police Chief Greg Schirmers said in a news release.
The Little Falls Police Department is investigating the case with the assistance of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office and the Central Minnesota Drug Task Force.
