POLICE BLOTTER - July 27
Todd Plohasz, who had a medical condition while swimming, was in serious condition Monday at St. Cloud Hospital. The incident occurred at 4:50 p.m. July 20,when the sheriff’s office had a report of a missing person on Fishtrap Lake in Cushing. Officers observed two boats out on the water and it appeared that parties on board were trying to pull someone out of the water. A short while later they arrived on shore. Deputies assisted with life-saving measures until additional first responders and Gold Cross arrived. It was learned that Plohasz was swimming with his wife Mary Plohasz. Mary stated their pontoon started floating away and that Todd tried swimming after it, when she believed he had a heart attack. Mary managed to keep Todd above water while calling to shore for help. Neighbors Jon Wood, Michael Wood and Katina Wynn answered that call by going out onto the water and bringing Todd to shore. Todd was then transported by air to St. Cloud Hospital.
