SUSPICIOUS — A report at 4:47 p.m. Monday of a five-foot chest freezer near the entrance of Nokay Lake Road in Deerwood taped in duct tape.

Staples police

ANIMAL — A report at 9:14 a.m. Sunday of a black bear in a trailer park on the north side of town. Officers saw a black bear in the woods clawing at a tree. When the bear saw the officer, it ran to a nearby swampy area.

HIT AND RUN — A report at 7:06 p.m. Thursday of a hit and run crash on Sixth Street Southeast and Front Street. A motorcycle was run into and knocked over, and the suspect left the scene. Police have a suspect in the case and are investigating.
