Bertha male apparently shoots significant other, kills self

BERTHA — A Bertha male apparently shot and wounded his significant other before turning the weapon on himself.

The names of the people involved will be released Monday, the Todd County Sheriff’s office reported.

At 7:17 p.m. Friday, the sheriff’s office received a report of a shooting at a Bertha residence. The sheriff’s office reported it appears the suspect shot a significant other and them shot and killed himself. The significant other was transported by Bertha Ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The Eagle Bend Police Department assisted at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Todd County Sheriff’s office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
