ROCKVILLE (AP) — A homicide suspect was in critical condition Sunday after being shot by a deputy in the central Minnesota town of Rockville.

Deputies were already en route to a Rockville home after receiving a report of a man with a gun around 4 a.m. when they got word that he had shot another man and fled on foot, Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner said.

The victim, Jeffrey Schultz, 30, of Rockville, later died.
