Pursuit near Little Falls results in two arrests

LITTLE FALLS — A pursuit on Highway 10 in Little Falls Sunday topped speeds above 100 mph and resulted in the arrest of a two males after their 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee crossed over the highway median and crashed into a fence, reported the Minnesota State Patrol. There were no injuries.

The driver was believed to be under the influence of drugs, according to the state patrol.

Little Falls Police and the Morrison County Sheriff’s office assisted in the apprehension of the two male suspects who are believed to have ditched multiple drug-related items while driving through a marshy area. Narcotics and related items were discovered and seized, including a stolen handgun.

The driver, a 32-year-old Avon man, had a warrant for felon in possession of handgun and was believed to be under the influence of drugs and later refused to test. A 32-year-old Menahga man, who was a passenger, is being held on possible charges.

The pursuit began after a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and a window tint violation. The pursuit started on Highway 10 about five miles south of Little Falls and ended in Little Falls on the west side of Highway 10 near 11th Street Northeast and Seventh Avenue Northeast.

Suspects arrested for controlled substance-related crimes and other possible charges are being held pending completed investigation and review by Morrison County Attorney’s Office.
