Name of drowning victim released

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday released the name of the 3-year-old boy who drowned and was found near the shoreline of Edna Lake at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The name of the boy is Linden Halverson of Nisswa.

The boy was located near the shoreline by family members. Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on scene. The child was transported to Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident. At this time, it is unknown how the child ended up in the water. Foul play is not suspected.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Nisswa and Pequot Lakes Police Departments, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Nisswa Fire Department, North Ambulance, the Lakes Area Chaplaincy and area first responders.
