Brainerd police

ARRESTS — Two men were arrested at 1:56 a.m. Tuesday. The 23-year-old was arrested for obstructing the legal process and a 24-year-old was arrested for fleeing a peace officer on foot and for fourth-degree DWI.

THEFT — A report at 3:49 p.m. Monday of a theft in Brainerd.

DISTURBANCE — A report at 2:21 p.m. Monday of a male student causing a disturbance at the Brainerd High School (BHS), 702 S. Fifth St.

ASSAULT — A report at 11:21 a.m. Monday of an assault at BHS.

WELFARE — A report at 1:08 p.m. Monday of a female pushing a stroller with a baby not properly clothed on Norwood Street and Eighth Street. Officer was unable to locate.

FRAUD — A report at 11:54 a.m. Monday of the complainant sending $500 to Nigeria.

A report at 10:33 a.m. Monday of a possible computer scam.

Baxter police

ARREST — A 21-year-old man was arrested at 9:58 p.m. Monday for drug possession on Highway 210 and Baxter Drive.

Staples police

BURGLARY — A report at 11 p.m. Sunday of a possible burglary in progress on the 200 block of Dakota Avenue Southeast. Police arrived in the area and found a resident had driven in an alley and dumped snow onto another person’s property. The party was advised to not do it again.

ASSAULT — A report at 10:56 a.m. Friday where a student from Next Step assaulted a staff member at the Staples-Motley High School, 401 Centennial Dr. The student was expelled from school and cited for disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault.

ARREST — A 41-year-old man was arrested at 3:04 a.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated (DWI) on Michigan Avenue and Eighth Street Northeast after he drove his vehicle into a snow bank.

THEFT — A report at 3:39 a.m. Thursday of a theft of rear rims from a four-wheeler on the 900 block of Second Avenue.

A report at 3:26 p.m. Jan. 28 that a woman stole out of the tip jar at Towns Edge Restaurant, 1300 Second Ave. NE.
