Fire destroys structures in Wadena
WADENA—The Wadena fire and police departments were called at 8:54 a.m. Monday to a structure fire on Highway 10 East, which is occupied by TJ's Detailing, the Jefferson Bus Lines office and U-Haul.
When first responders arrived they found the building engulfed in flames, Wadena police reported in a news release. No one was inside and only minor injuries were reported. The fire is believed to have started from a malfunctioning propane heater. The buildings appear to be a complete loss.
The Wadena County Sheriff's Office, Verndale Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Verndale Fire Department and Tri County Ambulance assisted with the fire.
Highway 10 East and Second Street Southwest was re-routed for a period of time to give responders room to work.
