ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A new, progressive "super" political action committee is targeting Minnesota U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack (cruh-VACK') in his bid for reelection.

The San Francisco-based super PAC, which calls itself CREDO Mobile, includes Cravaack on a list of six Republicans it wants to see defeated in November. Campaign manager Matthew Arnold says the group plans to spend about $3 million total to put staffers on the ground in the districts where they'll organize door-knocking and phone-bank activities targeted at the incumbents.

Cravaack was elected in 2010 in the traditionally Democratic 8th Congressional district in northern Minnesota. Several Democrats are vying to challenge him. By law, super PACs are not allowed to coordinate their activities with campaigns.

Spokesman Ben Golnik says Cravaack intends to stay above the fray and focus on creating jobs.
