Cool: County needs a new voice

■ District 5

Stating she thinks Crow Wing County needs a new voice, Ronda Cool of Merrifield joined the five-person field in the Crow Wing County Board District 5 race Tuesday.

“The residents of District 5 need a strong voice and an active, interested representative at the county level,” she said in statement.

She the qualities of a commissioner should include listening to residents, having a vision for the future, focusing on what’s best for the county, keeping an open mind, protecting the county’s quality of life and strategically setting priorities and goals.

Asked to describe her vision for the county, Cool said she didn’t want to elaborate beyond her written statement at this time.

“The decisions made at the county level affect every resident and because of this I am committed to listening, participating, implementing positive changes and providing leadership,” she said in her statement.

Cool, 46, and her husband own Rosewood Emporium on Washington Street in Brainerd.
