The Brainerd City Council voted 5-1 to try to force Mayor Bob Olson to sign its recommendation for a snowmobile route through Brainerd. Olson said he wouldn't sign it because residents in the area objected to the trail route.

While coliform levels in wells in a Baxter residential development appear to be not as serious as earlier indicated, the Minnesota PCA urged further testing. The city will be testing wells in Southdale to see if a problem exists, said Mayor Stan Smith.

Three N. P. shop machinists ran their Thomas Flyer, a 50 horsepower, five seated touring car, full tilt into the brick front of Rosko Brothers auto garage, tearing a hole four feet wide and several feet wide. They were coming at a good gait and missed the entrance.
