Glen Hasselberg captured medalist honors in the Northern State JC golf tourney at the Birchmont course in Bemidji with a two over par 74. But it wasn't quite enough for coach Terry Larson's Brainerd JC Raiders, who finished second to Itasca JC.

The Brainerd Dental Society, at a meeting at Van's Café, has endorsed the introduction of fluorination into the city water supply to reduce tooth decay. A copy of the resolution was sent to the Water & Light Board in the hope they will act on it, a spokesman said.

The lunch room in connection with Fred Yilek's filling station on Laurel Street was hit by fire Sunday morning. An attendant was filling a tank on a cooking range with gasoline. A coffee urn nearby ignited the gasoline, but it was put out, saving the building.

Today section crews are engaged in building the sidetrack for the new city of Barrows. The grading was about completed yesterday. A large frame building has been completed on Barrows Ave. near Division Street, and will be used as a boarding house.
