Business is booming in Baxter, but one side effect has been more traffic — and with more traffic comes more accidents. Many residents and business people have asked for a traffic light on 371 near the new Target store.

A couple from Nebraska made one of the best walleye catches of the season in the Crosslake area. Fishing with minnows out of Anchor Point Resort, they caught four, which weighed 10-4, 9-3, and two more over 8 pounds, for a total of 36 pounds.

Tonight will be a busy evening in Brainerd. At 6 p.m. the second baseball game between the Brainerd City team and the Walker Indians will begin, Brainerd having won the first by 14-3. The city council and school board both meet at 8 p.m., as does the Commercial Club board.
