Burglars who forced their way into the Public Safety Building at the fairgrounds got less than they hoped for. They stole only two display cases containing examples of controlled substances. But the drug samples inside were all fakes, and the cases were discarded.

It was a long and tiring blueberry trail for two Brainerd men, Lloyd Seeger and Police Chief Tom Templeton. They parked and locked Seeger's car near Leader, but while they were picking berries the car was stolen. They hitchhiked to Motley and caught the train to Brainerd.

While Gov. Floyd B. Olson is a guest of Game and Fish Commissioner W. D. Stewart at his cottage on Gull Lake, Olson's 10-year-old daughter, Patricia, made a call on the Dispatch office. She showed us her dolly, Patsy Anne, one of nine she brought with her.

The state forestry board has decided to erect fire towers in places where there is no commanding view of the country. Most of the towers will be of wood. A 40-foot steel tower will be set on a hill near Brainerd and no better place could be found than Ahrens Hill.
