A public hearing will be held Nov. 18 in the Franklin Junior High auditorium to discuss the proposed permanent county zoning ordinance. Planning Commission member John Sullivan urges support as the current zoning law cannot be continued beyond Jan. 7.

Personnel of the 861st Engineer Aviation Battalion will leave here for two weeks annual training at Ft. Leonard Wood. Included are Major James Polk and Lt. George Gmeinder, Brainerd, and Capt. Dave Elsberry and Lt. Howard Wallentine, Nisswa.

Charles E. and Fred Britton, Brainerd brothers who are trying to prove Brainerd is rich in minerals, got moral support from the city council and will now take their proposition to drill a test hole to the chamber. They say there is a vein of gold, silver, zinc and iron.

L. G. Jones of St. Paul has bought out the All Leather Shoe Store, taking possession today. The sale will be held on Monday and, after he disposes of the stock, Mr. Jones will rent the space as a pool room.
