County attorney Jack Graham has asked the district court to overrule the county board on his 1992 budget. Graham asked for $281,000 and was cut to $252,000. He called the board’s action arbitrary and capricious, and showed disregard for the work of his office.

The Water and Light Board has ordered fluoridation equipment, said Len Peterson, board chair. The board received one bid, that of Tonka Equipment, for $11,704, and the equipment is to be delivered and installed within 60 days of the order date.

After they failed to click properly, Brainerd coach Bill Dammann pulled all his regulars before the close of the first half, and the reserves provided a lively win, 19-11, over visiting Bemidji. The part of the game played by the reserves was wild and scrappy.

“I don’t know any news today,” said W. E. Lively, the Brainerd businessman, “except that a man who owed me $2 for 10 years surprised me so that I nearly fell over when he handed me the money yesterday.”
