Airmotive Enterprises, the general aviation company at the airport, is facing competition. At a special meeting, the airport commission approved an application from former operators of Moon Wolf Aviation at Mora to build a $100,000 hangar and offices here.

John Straka hit 9 of 11 field goal attempts to lead the Warriors to a 79-48 blasting of Wadena here. Rick Borders and Wayne Caughey backed him up with 14 and 17 points respectively, as the Warriors improved to 9-2 on the season.

A pretty 19-year-old brunette, who was a last minute entry in the “Miss Brainerd of 1952” contest sponsored by the Jaycees, was crowned Brainerd’s queen last night. She is Jo Ann Wilmar, daughter of the John Wilmars of Bremerton, Wash., formerly of Brainerd.

Brainerd men bowlers bested their opponents from Little Falls at Vans Alleys, two games out of three, by a total of 106 pins. Hagberg rolled a 573 for Brainerd. Brainerd ladies won all three games from the downriver ladies’ team, and by a total margin of 445 pins.

The Brainerd Ice Co. has commenced cutting on Rice Lake. On Tuesday, 20 teams were engaged in hauling ice from the lake to the company’s ice houses. The steam plant operates the endless chain that hauls the cakes from the water to the loading platform.
