A Special Attraction at the county fair: Brainerd vs. Pequot in baseball. A red hot ball game in which the winner will take all of the purse money. Brainerd defeated Pequot earlier, but Pequot has won eight straight games and is out for revenge.

Pine River will be the county seat of Clover County, according to a proclamation by Gov. Eberhart. The governor acted on a petition from residents of southern Cass County to divide the county in two, and it was the only petition received by Gov. Eberhart.
