Eleven anglers from Minnesota and Illinois were booked by the DNR for taking 1,351 fish over the limit. They had been fishing on Mission Lake in Crow Wing County. They were in possession of 1,846 crappies and sunfish. The DNR acted on a phone tip.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Cave entertained for their son, David (Butchie), to compliment him on his 3rd birthday. The party was held in the private dining room of their own Cave’s Restaurant on S. 6th Street. A decorated cake, games and prizes were featured.

Staff of the sheriff’s office in Aitkin told the Dispatch via long distance telephone at 3 p.m. today that bloodhounds had again taken up the trail of Harry Hedstrom, a settler wanted in connection with the slaying of James Harney, federal prohibition agent.

Monday, Sept. 23 may not be the most auspicious date, but it marks the debut of Leslie Bush into big league company. His Philadelphia Athletics were behind Columbus 5-4 in the 5th when Bush went in. He gave up one hit and no runs and they won 9-5 in the 9th.
