20 years ago (1992)

To rob or not to rob was the question. In the end a 45-year-old Onamia man decided not to. Armed with a pistol, he entered the Triangle 1-Stop on Oak Street and said it was a robbery. Then he asked for a phone to call the police. A customer had already called officers.

100 years ago (1912)

The two girls caught in the police net for running a house of ill fame were fined $35 or 35 days in jail by Judge Swanson. The three young men pled guilty and paid their fines. The judge delivered a stinging rebuke to all those involved in this disgraceful affair.
