Molly Brown became only the third 8th-grade gymnast in Warrior history to qualify for the state tournament, as she competed in the Section 8AA individual meet. Brown advanced to state in St. Paul when she finished 3rd in vault with a 2-day score of 18.2

A knife-wielding vandal – or vandals – went on a spree through south Brainerd, slashing an estimated $5,000 worth of tires. Brainerd police said a total of 68 tires were slashed in a 2.5 hour period, with reports still coming in as the Dispatch went to press today.

A total of 55 drivers, almost all of them completing the entire 80-mile trail ride around Mille Lacs Lake, earned over $2,000 for the March of Dimes. The Sno-Packers and Snow Serpents snowmobile clubs from Bay Lake, C-I and Deerwood sponsored the event.

Showing a brilliant defense, and an offense that sparkled with new plays given them by Coach Arnie Gibbert, the Brainerd Red Devils finished up practice for the Alexandria game. It will be under the floodlights on the local ice at the foot of Norwood Street.

Leslie Bush will leave on the Saturday afternoon train for St. Paul and will leave the Twin Cities on Sunday night for St. Louis. There he will join the Philadelphia Athletics as they travel to San Antonio, Texas, to commence spring training.
