The Warrior Way carries on, leaving behind the historic but politically incorrect Indian head logo, and bursting into the next century with a more kinetic icon. The new logo was revealed in a brief ceremony, and reaction was mixed, and overall lukewarm.

An unbeaten 12-0 season in dual meets was closed out by Coach Dave Maras’ Warrior girl gymnasts with a 130.05-119.9 triumph over St. Cloud Tech. Leigh Draves won bars at 8.7, Jennifer Knippel the floor exercise at 8.55 and Kristi Kilgore won vault with 8.3.
40 years ago (1974)
Six of Brainerd’s Golden Gloves boxers will be fighting for regional titles at Wadena. Earning decisions were heavyweight Al Houck, welterweight Mark Olson and featherweight Chris Kelm. Lone loser was junior welterweight Kerry Palmer.
