Doris E. Toumi, 89, Brainerd, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at her home in Brainerd surrounded by her family. She was born in Superior, Wis., on Dec. 31, 1918, to Harry and Phebe (Mills) Swenson. She married Uno Richard Toumi on March 8, 1940, and they were married for 57 years. Doris enjoyed friends, family, grandkids and socializing. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.

Helen R. Oehrlein, age 88, resident of Brainerd, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. Helen was born on June 27, 1920, in Sauk Rapids, Minn., to Charles and Martha (Zwick) Damm. She married Edward Oehrlein on Dec. 17, 1937, in Sauk Rapids.

DULUTH - Ruth Kennedy Anderson, 100, of Duluth, finished her baptismal journey on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Edgewood Vista.

DEERWOOD - Elaine M. Gowan, age 69, of Deerwood, died on Aug. 25, 2008, at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was born on Jan. 26, 1939, to Herbert and Ellen Thompson. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood, and an activist with the Salem West Ministry. Elaine was employed for more than 30 years with Honeywell.

STAPLES - Wayne Johnson, age 80, of Staples, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, in LaCrosse, Wis. He was born June 3, 1928, in Fillmore County, Minn., to Bennett and Lela Johnson.

Kenneth Sven Petrusson, age 45, of rural Brainerd, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at his home. Memorial services for Kenny will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the Garrison Community Alliance Church with Pastor Mike Palkie officiating. Friends may visit at the church during the hour prior to services.

Ruth Emma Aune was born June 24, 1921, in Hinckley, Minn., and passed away Aug. 25, 2008, at St. Cloud Hospital.
