James Edward Jensen

James Edward Jensen, age 80 of Brainerd, formerly Cuyuna passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on July 10, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1933 in Crosby to Walter and Faye (Leighton) Jensen. He was a Crosby-Ironton High School graduate, Class of 1951. He was US Navy Korean War veteran. He married Donna Jean Smith on May 21, 1970 in Milbank, SD. Jim was a retired from Operating Engineers Local 49. He also worked for Scorpion Snowmobiles, and owned the Crosby Café. He served as a council person for Cuyuna and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auction sales.

Survivors include his wife Donna; three sons, Scott (Lisa) Jensen of Cloquet, Jeff (Malika) Jensen of Las Vegas, NV, and Steve (Erin) Skarloken of Deerwood; one daughter Cathy Domeier of Brainerd; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; one son, Rick; and two brothers, Walt and George “Pokie” Jensen.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
