Mrs. Ruth A. (Yunker) Bettin

BELOIT, Wis. — Mrs. Ruth A.(Yunker) Bettin, 67, of Beloit, Wis., died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at home.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1943 in Crosby, Minn., to Melvin and Ann (Sepich) Yunker.

She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1961.

On April 21, 1973, she was joined in marriage to William “Bill” Bettin at Peoples’ Church in Beloit.

Mrs. Bettin worked for 25 years at Besley Corporation as a machinist, retiring in 1998.

Mrs. Bettin was a tutor for the Literacy Council. She loved to travel. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was involved in Relay for Life. She greatly enjoyed pool and was on a Pool League as captain for many years. She was very active in her church.

Most of all she loved to be with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Bettin is survived by her children, Frederick (Abigail Cooper) Hoffstead, Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Wayne (MiSuk) Hoffstead, Beloit, Wis.; her grandchildren, Callista, Denaya and Lucas Hoffstead and Amanda Cooper; her siblings, Edward (Yvonne) Yunker, Brainerd, Minn., Dennis (Alice) Yunker, Tustin, Calif., David (Sue) Yunker, Plymouth, Minn., Ronald (Deb) Yunker, Crosby, Minn., Constance Yunker, Aitkin, Minn., and Judith  Hamilton, Brainerd, Minn.; also, eight nieces and seven nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Bill Bettin; one sister, Patricia (Robert) McCallum; and one niece, Molly McCallum

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ruth Bettin will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Father John Hedrick will be the celebrant.

Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Floral Lawns Cemetery.

Care of the family and their loved one is entrusted to the professionals at Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
