Chester (Chip) L. Ringler, age 71, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Lakewood Hospital in Staples. Funeral services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Chip was born June 10, 1939, in Staples to Leo and Anna (Wiskow) Ringler. He graduated from Motley High School. Chip married Barbara in 1960. He worked in Minneapolis at Minneapolis Moline for 12 years before returning to the Staples area in 1971. Chip then worked at Stearns Rubber for 33 years before retiring in July 2005. Family was the focus of Chip’s life. He enjoyed doing remodeling work for his family members, cutting firewood, fixing cars, and most of all camping for many years with his family.
Chip will be greatly missed by Barbara, his wife of 50 years; sons, Tim and Kevin (Amy); grandsons, Chris and Alex; brothers, Dallas (Carol) and Gary; special niece, Jen Johnson; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Anna; and one brother, Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
