Jean E. Nimeth, age 85, resident of Brainerd, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Essentia Health's St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
Jean was born on Sept. 19, 1925, in Ideal Township to T.A. and Edith (Lund) Clarquist. Jean enjoyed coffee with friends, helping others, her work with Senior Companions, family gatherings, friends at church, her plants and flowers, collecting things and loved her home of more than 60 years.
Jean is survived by sons Edward Nimeth of Fredericksburg, Va., and Jerry (Lynn) Nimeth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters Betty Bild of Cottage Grove, Minn., Jill (Gene) Frost of Cloquet, Minn. and Jean (Al) Humphrey of Tulsa, Okla.; son-in-law David (Joanne) Christensen of Brainerd; daughter-in-law Carol (John) Nimeth of St. Paul, Minn.; and sisters Janet McKinney and Tudy (George) Burnard, both of Nisswa; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her special life-long friend, Mary Lou Nelson.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Nimeth; daughters Janet Marie and Joanne Christensen; son, John Nimeth; great-granddaughter, Chayanne Rose; grandson, John L. Nimeth; brothers Art Clarquist, Quentin Clarquist and Harry Clarquist; and sister Gertrude Sarkiaho.
Jean looked forward to being with her Lord and Savior and being reunited with loved ones who had gone on before.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at the Church of the Nazarene, 16549 Johnson Road, Brainerd, with Pastor Ron Keysor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Nazarene Church Youth Group.
