UPDATE: Final Minnesota legislative bills may be passed in middle of the night

CROSBY — Mary Magdalen Popek, age 92, of Crosby, died on Jan. 19, 2011, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on July 18, 1918, in Crosby to Mike L. and Ivka (Butorac) Perpich. She married Joseph V. Popek on May 2, 1953, in Crosby. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, National Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Mary’s Court No. 854 and the Myrin-James American Legion Post No. 443, Ironton.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Ann Pickar, of Crosby; brother, Frank Perpich, of Crosby; sister-in-law, Gloria Perpich, of Ironton; three grandchildren, Ericka (Jason) Pickar, of St. Paul, Ann (Matt) Hunnicutt, of Brainerd, and Pat (Angie) Pickar, of Baxter; five great-grandchildren, Chayse, Iyana, Jordan, Madison and Morgan.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Joseph in 1998; three brothers, Tony, Myron and Joseph Perpich; four sisters, Elsie, Dorothy and Ann Perpich and Stella Middleton.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Sunday at the Koop Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.
