NISSWA — Donald Stumvoll, 81, of Nisswa, passed away on March 29, 2011, in Pequot Lakes. Services for Don will be 1 p.m. April 4, 2011, at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Pastor Bruce Hannem officiating. Friends are welcome to gather from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens in Brainerd at a later date.
Don was born Dec. 11, 1929, to Charles and Johanna in Brainerd, Minn. He married Ramona (Nonie) Parker on June 9, 1950. Together they farmed and owned Stumvoll Excavating.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross and was one of the founders of the Lakeshore Conservation Club and Gull Lake Drifters. Years ago he loved racing cars. He loved trap shooting, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting up north at the camp and playing cards with family and friends.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife, Nonie of 60 years; and children, Terry (Sue), Randy, Brian (Penny); grandchildren, David, Richard, Rori, Kristi (Reid) and Aron; great-grandchildren Cody, Breana, Owen, Taylor and Tiffany; brother, Jerry (Shirley). Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
