Jeffrey Schlegel, born in Onamia, Minn., on April 29, 1957, of Walter Schlegel and Irene (Gross) Schlegel, passed away at age 54 on Sunday, August 14, 2011, in Tijuana, Mexico, from complications due to Acute Leukemia.

Jeff will always be remembered for his positive attitude, prominent aspirations, and zest for life. He was a graduate of the Brainerd Senior High School Class of 1975. Jeff spent time as a tuna fisherman and later became an influential leader in the network marketing industry where he made many of his dreams become realities. Jeff was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Jeff is survived by his children, Ryan, Eric, and Chelsea Schlegel; children’s mother, Tracy McConnell and children’s step-father, Dirk McConnell; parents, Walter and Irene Schlegel; Brothers, Bert (Celina), David (Nancy), Michael (Sabrina), Ned (Susan), Russell (Amber); sisters, Renee (Michael) LaDouceur, Roxanne (Paul) Schmitz; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jeff fought an incredible fight and kept a positive attitude through the entire journey of battling Leukemia and will be missed greatly. A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Living Word Christian Center, 9201 75th Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428, (763) 315-7000 Visitation is at 10 a.m.
