LITTLE FALLS — Veryl E. Kalahar, 82-year-old resident of Little Falls, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls, Minn. Funeral services for Veryl E. Kalahar will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Glenn Leaf officiating. Burial will be at Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Military rites will be by the Little Falls American Legion Post No. 46. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
Veryl was employed at Camp Ripley for 37 years as the CIC (Civilian In Charge). He was involved in every major construction project at Camp Ripley during that time. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Little Falls American Legion Post No. 46.
Veryl E. Kalahar is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Brian (Candy) Kalahar, of St. Joseph, Minn.; daughters, Leanne ‘Lani” (Ron) Larson, of St. Francis, Minn., and Sharon (John) Strack, of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; brothers, Keeven (Alyce) Kalahar, of Little Falls, Minn., and Pat Kalahar, of Little Falls, Minn.; sisters, Norma Molde, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Joyce (Bud) Chambers, of South Bend, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
