SARASOTA, Fla. — J. Russell “Russ” Klosner, of Sarasota, Fla., and Gull Lake.

June 22, 1930 — Oct. 6, 2011

Age 81, Russ peacefully passed from this life on Oct. 6, 2011, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sue; children, Cindy Allen, Mary DiMassi, Sarah Warren, Amy Jo Connours, John Klosner; and stepchildren, Doug Connours and Brenda Graff; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Russ is also survived by four brothers and their families, Clyde and Gloria, of Oakdale, Minn., Dale and Shirley, of International Falls, Minn., Earl and Gwen, of Nevis, Minn., and Grant and Kathy, of Bradenton, Fla.

After a successful banking career in Minnesota and Park Falls, Wis., Russ moved his family to Sarasota, Fla., in 1968. There, he left behind his legacy of 52 years, Sarasota Investment Co. He led the Jaycees while living in Park Falls, and is a lifetime member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus.

A funeral Mass was said on Oct. 8 in Oakdale, Minn., in celebration of Russ’ life.
