Another day, another missed Minnesota legislative deadline

Candi (Gleason) Storm

MINNEAPOLIS — Candi (Gleason) Storm, Minneapolis, born on July 17, 1944, in Veblen, S.D., died peacefully with her family by her side on Nov. 11, 2011. Candi is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Jill and Carole (Storm) Steenson; son-in-law, Don Steenson; and grandchildren, Kieran and Kemper Steenson; brothers, David and Pat Gleason; sister, Jane Gleason; and extended family. She was preceded in death by father, Guy Gleason, and mother, Muriel Gleason. A Macalester and University of Minnesota graduate, Candi loved many diverse threads of life including her horses, Gopher athletics, bluegrass music, live theatre, San Antonio, the Texas Hill County, her students and her pets Happi Bubbles (dog) and Miss Ann Tique (cat). Her adventurous spirit lead to her active participation in dog sledding, cattle drives, Grandma’s Marathon and drama chorus to name a few. Recipient of numerous awards and certificates, all are secondary to her loving, upbeat, and compassionate personality. She accepted people as they are and did not buy in to the stereotypes. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bender, Dr. Potter and the Heart to Home Care residence. A special thank you to Leo, her hospice nurse, whose words and actions provided comfort to us all. Celebration of her life and recognition of her goodness will include a private gathering and an open reception on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, 9 a.m. to noon at The Nicolette Island Inn, 95 Merriam St, Minneapolis, All memorials to Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART), 15494 Dellwood Drive, Brainerd, MN 56401.
