U.S. judge restores Endangered Species Act protections to Great Lakes gray wolves

Patrick Clarence Abrahamson, age 70, resident of Brainerd, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Bethany. Pat was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Duluth to Clarence and Laura (Krause) Abrahamson.

He was a 1959 graduate of Duluth Central High School. He earned a BA degree from the University of MN-Duluth and completed his master’s degree from Bemidji State University. He drove heavy equipment through his college years. Pat taught auto mechanics at Brainerd Technical College from 1972 until retiring in 2001.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd, the American Legion and the Eagles. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and received the Past Fellow Degree.

Survivors include his wife, Faye; sons, Michael (Cathy) Abrahamson, of Brainerd, James (MaryAnn) Abrahamson, of Missouri, Edward (Naomi) Abrahamson, of South St. Paul; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Muehlbauer, of Brainerd, Susan Fraune, of Brisbane, Calif.; six grandchildren, Evan, Tyler, Erik, William, Molly and Olivia; one great-grandson, Adam; one brother, Charles Abrahamson, of Elgin, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Suzanne Hedberg; and granddaughter, Kayla.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Vaale Cemetery.
