Florine 'Flo' Brune

BEMIDJI — Florine “Flo” Brune, 89, of Bemidji, Minn., passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at St. Philips Catholic Church, Bemidji, Minn., with Father Craig Vasek officiating. A time of sharing will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji, Minn. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.

Florine Alva Moody was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Bemidji, Minn., to Walter and Antoinette (Borho) Moody. She grew up in Bemidji and attended Swenson Lake Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1939. She married Frederick “Fritz” Brune Sept. 25, 1940, in Bemidji, Minn. She served with the hot lunch program while her seven children attended St. Philips Catholic School, was active in the church circle and altar society. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and loved playing Scrabble.

She is survived by daughters, Mary (William) Corrigan, of Bemidji, Minn., Judy Ferry, of Grand Forks, N.D., and Kris (Brian) Ross, of Baxter, Minn.; sons, Michael (Eileen) Brune, of Grand Forks, N.D., Richard (Carol) Brune, of Bemidji, Minn., Thomas Brune, of Bemidji, Minn., and Jon (Rachel) Brune, of Roseville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Antoinette Moody; husband, Frederick Brune; brother, Kenneth Moody; sisters, Helen Blackburn, Mildred Larson and Berdella Stahoski.

The family prefers any memorials to be sent to Bemidji First Responders.
