Florine 'Flo' Brune
BEMIDJI — Florine “Flo” Brune, 89, of Bemidji, Minn., passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.
Florine Alva Moody was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Bemidji, Minn., to Walter and Antoinette (Borho) Moody. She grew up in Bemidji and attended Swenson Lake Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1939. She married Frederick “Fritz” Brune Sept. 25, 1940, in Bemidji, Minn. She served with the hot lunch program while her seven children attended St. Philips Catholic School, was active in the church circle and altar society. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and loved playing Scrabble.
She is survived by daughters, Mary (William) Corrigan, of Bemidji, Minn., Judy Ferry, of Grand Forks, N.D., and Kris (Brian) Ross, of Baxter, Minn.; sons, Michael (Eileen) Brune, of Grand Forks, N.D., Richard (Carol) Brune, of Bemidji, Minn., Thomas Brune, of Bemidji, Minn., and Jon (Rachel) Brune, of Roseville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Antoinette Moody; husband, Frederick Brune; brother, Kenneth Moody; sisters, Helen Blackburn, Mildred Larson and Berdella Stahoski.
The family prefers any memorials to be sent to Bemidji First Responders.
