Bertha ‘Sally’ L. Krieger

ROGERS — Bertha L.“Sally” Krieger, age 98, of Rogers, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1913, in Menomonie, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Frances Stoll Wedam.

On March 3, 1943, Bertha “Sally” Wedam and Oliver Krieger were joined in holy marriage in St. Paul.

Oliver and Sally wintered for many years in Sun City, Ariz., and spent their summers on Pelican Lake near Brainerd.

She loved gardening, birds, bowling, entertaining (was a great cook!), playing cards, fishing and mostly loved spending time with family and friends. Sally was a friend to all and had a great sense of humor!

Survived by a daughter, Kathy (Jim) Warehime; grandchildren, Christine Korzenowski, Brian (Bridget) Korzenowski, Heather Krieger, Ginger (Ulf) Deinert, Jason (Kathryn) Warehime; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Alex, Cody and Ethan Korzenowski, Mikayla and Jacob Ebensteiner, Joshua Theis, Dylan Splittstoesser, Taylor Warehime and Jasmin Deinert; and by a great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Oliver Krieger on July 11, 2011; a son, Michael Krieger; a grandson, Andy Krieger; her parents, Frank and Frances (Stoll) Wedam; sisters, Ann and Rose Hofacker, Elizabeth Gatten, Mary Spindler and Louise Steinke; and by brothers, John, Joe and Alvin Wedam.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Bertha “Sally” Krieger will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be the celebrant.

Gift bearers will be Marlys and Bob.

Private entombment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
