Harold E. Tripp

Harold E. Tripp, 89 of Aitkin died Jan. 3, 2012, at his residence in Aicota Assisted Living.

He was born June 28, 1922, in Finlayson to Harold and Hilma (Mickelson) Tripp. He graduated from Finlayson High School and attended business college. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and then worked as a supervisor for the Department of Defense. Harold was united in marriage to Carol Roushar on Aug. 13, 1949, in Finlayson. The lived in Blaine and retired to Lake Minnewawa before moving to Aitkin. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Aitkin, a life member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and the Nation Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and watching sports, especially football.

He is survived by his wife Carol, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by two aunts, three uncles, and his parents.

A graveside service with military honors will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Assembly area No. 4. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
