Cordelia A. “Cora” Johnson passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

Cora was born on Aug. 24, 1919, to Frank and Clara (Albers) Linz in Richmond, Minn. She married Martin Johnson in 1938 and they moved to Nisswa, Minn., in 1942, where they operated Nisswa Realty for over 40 years. She was a charter member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, an honorary life member of Nisswa Garden Club, a 40-year member of the Nisswa Women’s Club and a member of the Nisswa Lions. Cora volunteered at St. Joseph’s Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, traveling and reading.

She is survived by her children, Rich (Dorothy) Johnson, of Naples, Fla., and Nisswa, Bob (Linda) Johnson, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Don Johnson, of Maplewood, Sharon (Ed) Vanasek, of Belle Plaine, Gordy (Gail) Johnson, of Nisswa, Linda (Tom) Rosenthal, of Brainerd; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father George Zeck officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. on Friday until the time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Christopher’s Council of Catholic Women or the Nisswa Garden Club Memorial Gardens.
