AITKIN — Owen U. DuChane, 89, of Aitkin, died March 7, 2012, at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Aitkin to Frank and Eva (Upex) DuChane. He graduated high school in Baker, Mont. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II. Owen worked as a coffee roaster machine operator. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and crossword puzzles and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter and Frank; and his granddaughter, Vanessa.

Owen is survived by one son, Gregory (Ann) DuChane, of Fredericksburg, Va.; two daughters, Pam Pratt (Tom Evans), of Aitkin, and Ramona DuChane, of Minot, N.D.; four grandchildren, Shannon Gustavson, Stacey Borgman, Marianne DuChane and Joseph DuChane; five great-grandchildren, Eva Field, Samantha Field, Sierra Borgman-Koch, Cheyenne Borgman-Koch and Harley Borgman; many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, funeral service at Westside Calvary Baptist Church in Aitkin. The Rev. Dallas Smith will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Aitkin American Legion Lee Post No. 86 and Aitkin VFW Roberts-Glad Post No. 1727. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
