OMAHA, Neb. — Ellsworth Brown, age 84, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Winthrop passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Winthrop Cemetery, with Pastor James Snyder officiating.
Ellsworth Washington Brown was born on Feb. 22, 1928, in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County, Minn. He was the son of Carl and Ruth (Kyrklund) Brown. Ellsworth was baptized as an infant at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop. He attended District No. 54 Country School and was a 1946 graduate of Winthrop High School. He furthered his education for two years at Gustavus and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ellsworth grew on the family farm in Alfsborg Township and in the 1960’s he moved to Upper Hay Lake near Pequot Lakes, Minn. He worked in engineering for many years. Ellsworth loved the outdoors, his hobbies of fishing and hunting brought him much joy.
When visiting his sister, Julanne, in Omaha, he had a fall which he was still healing from. He passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, at the age of 84 years. Blessed be his memory.
Ellsworth is survived by his sister, Julanne Brown of Omaha, Neb.; many special cousins, other relatives, special friends, David and Wanda Mongan and other friends.
Ellsworth was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Brown; and other relatives.
