Amelia “Louise” Lueck
AITKIN — Amelia “Louise” Lueck, age 84, of Aitkin, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.
Louise was born February 8, 1928 in Aitkin the daughter of Thomas and Lydia (Johnson) Grubb. She attended the Lone Lake Country School and then the Aitkin High School graduating in 1946. She married Fred “Fritz” Lueck on May 28, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Aitkin. They made their home in Aitkin and she worked for the Litchfield Produce Co., Francin Clothing Co. and the First National Bank of Aitkin before she started her career in the Aitkin County Auditor’s office where she worked for over 20 years retiring in 1993. She had also served as the Nordland Township Clerk for 29 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had taught Sunday school, was a member of WELCA, and the quilters group. She had also volunteered time at the Aitkin County Fair Cancer Booth. She loved to garden and grow her flowers. She made the best cinnamon rolls and pies.
She is survived by her husband Fritz Lueck of Aitkin; Children and spouses: Dale (Linda) Lueck of Aitkin; Larry (Julie) Lueck of Aitkin; Cindy (Stan) Weimer of Aitkin; Deb (Wes) Ellis of Nisswa; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Cynthia Gray officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
