Loretta Minor

STAPLES — Loretta Minor, 90, of Staples, passed away on June 28, 2012, at the Lakewood Pines in Staples. Funeral services for Loretta will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Father Joseph Korf officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples.

Loretta was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Huff, N.D., to Frank and Maria (Fogt) Lang. In June 1944, she married Louis Minor in Staples. They operated a dairy farm south of Staples from 1953 to 1989. Loretta worked for the Staples Hospital as a nurses aid for 37 plus years. She enjoyed baking and canning for friends and family, gardening, sewing, crocheting playing cards and traveling. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples.

Loretta is survived by her children: Shirley (Harlan) Hinzmann of Blooming Prairie and Judith Minor-Bushfan of Brainerd; sisters: Elizabeth Hutchins of Washington and Helen Marriott of Washington; sisters-in-law: Norma Minor of Hibbing, and Ardis Fisse of Washington; grandchildren: Michele (David) Guin of Colorado, Jodi (Eric) Sanders of Illinois, Mark (Amy) Hinzmann of Minnesota; and great grandchildren: Rachel, Ben, Grace, Audrey.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Marie, Frank, George, Louis, Joseph, Julia, William and Anne.
