Donald ‘Duck’ Windorski

CROSBY — Donald “Duck” James Windorski, a longtime resident of Crosby, Minn., passed away surrounded by loved ones, on Aug. 28, 2012, at his son’s house in Staples. Donny was born to Murel and William Windorski in Deerwood, Minn. He is survived by many loved ones, children, William “Billy” Windorski, Carol Battista (Verndale, Minn.), Bronson (Elaine) Windorski (Staples, Minn.), and Dena (Harry “Jr”) Ruikka (Brainerd, Minn.); siblings, Karen Miller (Osceola, Minn.), Deloras Porter (Minn.), Carol Pochardt (Minneapolis), Stevie (Hope) Windorski (Deerwood, Minn.), Suesie (Robert) Crawford (Deerwood, Minn.), Kathy (Mike) Amborn (Minnesota), Lori Craig (Colorado), Charlie (Luann) Windorski (Deerwood, Minn.), Jeff (Lorraine) Windorski (Deerwood, Minn.), Linda (Troy) Weberly (Brainerd, Minn.), Patty “Pete” Windorski (Tim Turner) (Trommald, Minn.). He is also survived 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by longtime girlfriend, Jan Robinson. Donny was preceded in death by Murel Windorski (mom); William Windorski (dad); Nancy (Crawford) Windorski (wife); Mike (Kathy) Windorski (brother); Philip “Butch” (Babe) Windorski (brother); Heather Bagley (niece); and Timmy Windorski (nephew).

Donny enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing and hunting. He enjoyed playing Farkle and cribbage. He liked old time country music, dancing and singing karoke. Donny worked as a utility locator for Johnson’s Locating for the last nine years. He was surrounded by loved ones in life and death. He is loved by many and will be missed by more.

There will be a celebration of Donny’s life at the American Legion in Ironton on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, from 1-4 p.m.

As Donny requested there will not be a funeral. Donations can be sent to 901 Pleasant Ave NE, Staples, MN 56479. Please make checks payable to Bronson Windorski. Any donations will be used to defer final costs.
