RICHFIELD — Alfred Roske, 92, formerly of Richfield, Minn., passed away peacefully at the Mount Olivet Home in Minneapolis on Oct. 9, 2012. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Evelyn. Survived by sons, Dennis (Karen) and Doug (Janet); grandchildren, Nate, Nick and Neil Roske, Andy, Jon and Jesse Pond; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Sloniker, Edith Hadlich, Evelyn Eidie, Helen Loewen; brother, Glen; nieces and nephews. An Army veteran of WWII, Al spent time in North Africa and Italy. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He retired from the Richfield School system after 25 years, as well as being an accomplished carpenter.

Memorial ceremony will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, 11 a.m. at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 5645 Chicago Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55417. Visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 15 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Al’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
