CLOQUET — Donald Dean Elmer, 84, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Oct. 18, 2012, at Woodland Good Samaritan Elmwood House in Brainerd, Minn.


Join his family for a celebration of his life, 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Nelson Funeral Care 1004 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet, Minn.

Donald was born and grew up in Cloquet, the son of Robert and Bertha (Rock) Elmer. Donald served his country in the United States Army. Donald was an iron worker by trade and a member of the steel workers union. He was a member of Big Lake Gun Club, FOE Eagles Club and Cloquet Country Club. Donald enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores (Liz) Westerham; and brother, Father Phillip Elmer.

Donald will be missed by his daughter, Denise (Rick) Segler, Brainerd, Minn.; granddaughters, Katie Petersen, Pequot Lakes, Minn., and Taylor Segler, Brainerd, Minn.; grandsons, Bret Petersen, San Francisco, and Evan Segler, Brainerd, Minn.; sisters, Marge (David) Golen, Cloquet, Minn., and Betty (Robert) Hansen, St. Louis Park, Minn.; brother, Jim Elmer, Cloquet, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Doug Wilson.
