Hilde was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Dahlgren Township, Carver County, Minn., the daughter of Raymond and Genevieve (Schmieg) Kelzer. She was raised on the family farm near Waconia. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Zwack. She loved the outdoors — especially walking in the woods or on the beach, feeding and watching the birds and gardening. Flowers bloomed under her magical green thumb, indoors and out, and for many years she fed her family of 10 on fresh vegetables from her gardens. She loved to play 500, sew clothing and crochet afghans for her family, travel, play pool and cheer for the Twins and Vikings.
She is survived by her children, Neil (Bonnie) Zwack, of Palm Desert, Calif., Gerald (Lou Ann Owens) Zwack, of Breezy Point, Dwayne (Shaun) Zwack, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jean (Mike) Kline, of Plymouth, Donna Myers, of Pequot Lakes, Susan Johnson, of Jenkins, Joseph (Alexa) Zwack, of Angwin, Calif., David (Camie) Zwack, of Breezy Point; her twin brother, Hubert; brothers, Denis and Leon; sisters, Genrose, Eunice and Erna; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; sisters, Jeanette, Lyra, Ardis, Joanne; brother, Killian; and grandson, Scott.
