Dr. Robert L. Pederson, former radiologist at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, was recently elected a Fellow Emeritus by the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology. Membership of the college is 30,000; only 204 have received this award.

30 years ago (1982)

Record-setting performances by junior Nina Borgwarth in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles, and a meet record-setting run in the 800 meters by captain Carla Sorenson, paced the Brainerd High School girls to first place in the Moorhead track meet Friday.

40 years ago (1972)

(Photo) Hanspeter Borgwarth, of Earl B. Olson Farms, Inc., was named “Boss of the Year” by the Brainerd chapter of the National Secretaries Assn. Making the presentation is Mayor George Bedard, while Marian Cannon, who nominated Borgwarth, looks on.

(Adv.) Announcement to the patrons of the Palace Theatre: Effective today I have laid off the projection operator for the time being and am taking over the work myself. I am reducing overhead due to the economy, and to continue to bring you pictures at 15 cents admission.

100 years ago (1912)

The Ingalls Motor Boat Co. boats commenced running April 17 on Serpent Lake, serving the communities of Crosby, Ironton, Deerwood and Julesberg. There are 4 boats in the fleet: the Twin City and Lotus each carry 80, and the Crosby and Deerwood 20 each.
