Winning both sweepstakes awards for papers its size, the Dispatch took top honors in the under-20,000 circulation class in the Minnesota AP news and photo contest. The Dispatch won seven writing awards and Steve Kohls took the top photo award.

County sheriff’s men today sought the driver of a car that collided with a vehicle driven by Walter Leonard, Nisswa, while one mile south of Merrifield. Leonard and his wife weren’t injured when the hit-run driver tore off two fenders and lights.

Otis Webb’s crew of river drivers, who have been working at Belle Prairie, passed through Little Falls on their way to Pike Rapids. The log drive which left Brainerd several days ago under Ed Lavol is now in the neighborhood of Ft. Ripley.
