It’s a good thing they held the Hall of Fame induction ceremony today. Otherwise Al and Ron Lindner would have been out fishing. The Lindners were 1992 inductees into the Brainerd Chamber Outdoor Hall of Fame. Where will they be tomorrow? Gull Lake.

Bill Kisskeys set a new record in the pole vault at the Wadena Jaycee Invitational track meet, clearing 12 feet 9 inches. But Coach Ron Long’s Warriors, with just 11 team members making the trip, had to settle for 4th place, far behind champion Alexandria.

(Edit.) Brainerd has gone to war, joined battle and, in the hopes of all, has won a victory over the forest tent caterpillar. Brainerd is obligated to Paul Cibuzar and his band of associates who carried on the campaign against the pests that moved in over the past 2 years.

Stories of the fighting in China are related by George Pippy, a Brainerd boy serving in the U.S. Army Hospital Corps at Tientsin, in a letter to his father in Brainerd. U.S. troops were ordered from Tientsin to Peking to protect American missionaries there.
